Beyond the standard collections, Ashlar House undertakes private commissions for obsidian objects of all kinds. If you have something specific in mind — for a desk, a room, an occasion, or a person — we are willing to consider it.
Ashlar House was built on the conviction that obsidian, worked with precision, belongs in any context — not only on a smoking table. Over the course of our work, we have been commissioned for obsidian bookends for private libraries, obsidian desk trays and letter openers for executive offices, obsidian candle holders and decorative vessels for interior designers, and obsidian gifting pieces for significant occasions. Each of these began as a conversation.
We do not maintain a catalogue for bespoke work. Every commission is considered individually, and we take on a very limited number at any one time. This is not a matter of policy — it is simply what the work requires.
If you have a specific object in mind, write to us. Describe it: its intended setting, its purpose, its approximate dimensions if you have them, and any finish preferences. We will respond if the commission interests us, and we will tell you plainly if it does not.
Letter openers, paperweights, pen holders, small trays.
Bookends, decorative slabs, object stands, display bases.
Unique pieces for significant occasions, presented without branding if preferred.
Beyond the standard collections, we produce bespoke cigar accessories to specification.
We are open to proposals. Write to us and we will respond if it interests us.
